Captured along the still waters of Little Redfish Lake in Idaho, this long-exposure photograph was created in the quiet moments before sunrise, during a photography workshop shared with fellow artists and friends.

In the quiet of the morning, we gathered along the lakeshore to witness one of nature’s most peaceful moments. Tripods stood patiently in place, coffee warmed our hands, and the only sound in the stillness was the occasional click of a shutter.

With a 120-second exposure, the water softened into glass as low fog drifted gently across the lake, revealing the Sawtooth Mountains beyond. The scene felt suspended in time — calm, hushed, and filled with quiet anticipation as the day slowly began to unfold.

Moments like this are the ones I treasure most. What began as a gathering of photographers soon became something more — friendships formed through shared mornings, shared landscapes, and a shared love for seeing the world a little more slowly.

It is a reminder that photography is not only about the images we create, but also about the people and experiences that shape the journey.
