In the rolling hills of the Palouse in eastern Washington, an old homestead rests quietly among fields that continue to move with the rhythm of the land. During a photography workshop in the region, this house immediately drew me in. Though the setting was different, something about it felt familiar.
My grandparents had a dairy farm, and standing there among the fields, I felt a quiet connection to those memories of rural life—of land worked by hand, homes built with care, and lives shaped by the seasons.
Bathed in the soft evening light, the weathered house seemed to hold the stories of those who once called it home, resting peacefully in the landscape that surrounds it.
